superfood eateries

Nothing makes me quite so excited as healthy new, veg-friendly restaurants. When they’re located within walking distance from me, it’s even better.

This month, Superfood Eateries opened up on Adelaide Street, just east of John Street in Toronto. The restaurant is based around these three pillars; plant-based, organically grown and living foods. All of my favourite things!

There is so much I love about this place that I need to put it in point form (a habit for years of corporate working):

  1. The most important part of course, is that the food rocks! Organic, vegan and raw that is nutrient-dense and tastes great.
  2. So much variety. There are many fresh-pressed juices available as well as breakfast and lunch/dinner options.
  3. Aside from the great food, the owners, Amy De Wolfe and Luciano Losiggio are the best part. They are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable as well as being seriously passionate about their business and healthy, plant-based living.
  4. Superfood Eateries opens early, at 8am meaning healthy breakfast options which can be pretty darn rare in the downtown core.
  5. It’s unpretentious and I like that. No fancy decor, no fussiness, just pick up your goods from the fridge and go. There’s a small section for seating should you choose to eat in.
  6. It’s right beside a mega-fire station. This means the potential for plant-loving firemen. Enough said.

I’ve stopped in quite a few times and my must have’s are – the Spring Break and Bombshell smoothies, the Warm Hug (a raw ‘pumpkin’ pie) and Go The Distance chia pudding. It’s delicious and will leave you feeling full while providing plenty of Essential Fatty Acid’s and fibre.

If you are in the neighbourhood (and even if you’re not), make a quick stop in and grab a juice and snack. I promise you’ll love it!

I work around the corner from this place and have been a couple times, for juices. I must try the rest of their menu! I think a review on my blog is in order ;)
